DENISE VERZELLA
For Verona Board of Education

In July, I formally filed paperwork to run as a candidate in the November 2022, Verona Board of Education election. Over the coming months, I hope to introduce myself to those who do not know me, and explain why I wish to be a member of the Board of Education. 
A bit of background for those who do not know me, I moved to Verona in 2006, just a few months after I married my husband Jon. We fell in love with the town and were fortunate to find a house where we could afford to set down some roots as a newly married couple. We spent the next few years renovating our new home. Along the way, I gave birth to our first daughter. We added a second daughter a few years later. It was soon after that we moved to our second Verona home, where we remain. Our daughters are now middle schoolers. 
In addition to being a mom, I am an education attorney who represents families in disputes with their school districts. I also volunteer as a board member for Verona CHILD, and at the food pantry at Holy Spirit Church.
